Alex Rodriguez, whose baseball career was clouded with controversy, has won a new TV gig which will see him discuss the difficulties faced by other athletes.
Rodriguez will host and produce a new four-part series set to air on ESPN and ESPN Deportes called "Pivot with Alex Rodriguez," the network announced in a press release, according to John Healy of the New York Daily News.
Throughout the MLB regular season, A-Rod will conduct interviews with former or current athletes who have battled adversity throughout their careers. The interviews will take place in environments relevant to their personal stories.
"ESPN's track record of compelling, original features makes it the natural partner for 'Pivot,'" Rodriguez said, according to Healy.
"Change can be good, and even necessary, for athletes facing their most difficult moments. However, I know firsthand how challenging it can be to turn the lens inward while living life in the public arena. I'm looking forward to uncovering personal stories the world deserves to hear while sharing the lessons I've learned - sometimes, through the hard way."
Rodriguez, who hit 696 home runs during a 22-year career which yielded three MVP awards, admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs in 2009 and was also suspended for the entire 2014 season as a result of his involvement in the Biogenesis scandal.
