Otero was sent down to Triple-A on Friday, the Giants' official twitterreports.
The Giants needed a roster spot cleared to make room for Eric Hacker to start on Friday. Otero was a logical choice to send down, since he gave up six runs on six hits in only 1.2 innings on Tuesday against the Reds, raising his ERA to 8.64 and his WHIP to 1.92.
