The rumor mill hasn't featured the name of free-agent outfielder Carlos Gonzalez very much this offseason, but teams do appear to be interested in the 32-year-old.
Gonzalez has received contract offers from at least three clubs, including the Houston Astros, San Francisco Giants, and San Diego Padres, reports ESPN Beisbol.
In December, the Toronto Blue Jays were reported to be interested as well, and Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports lists the Baltimore Orioles and New York Mets as teams that have also been linked to Gonzalez.
The veteran is on a long list of free-agent outfielders that still includes J.D. Martinez, Lorenzo Cain, and Jay Bruce, but he could be a much more affordable option.
The three-time All-Star struggled during the first half of 2017 for the Colorado Rockies. He hit .221/.299/.338 with six home runs and 22 RBIs before a much better second half (.314/.390/.531, eight HRs, 35 RBIs).
Gonzalez earned $20 million last season and reportedly rejected a four-year contract extension from the Rockies last spring.
