Report: Cubs agree to 2-year deal with Cishek
The Chicago Cubs apparently added another arm to their roster on the last day of the winter meetings, agreeing to a deal with right-hander Steve Cishek on Thursday, sources told The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.
Cishek's deal, which is still pending a physical, is for two years, according to Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune. It's in the $12 million to $14 million range, according to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.
The 31-year-old split 2017 between the Seattle Mariners and Tampa Bay Rays, amassing a 3-2 record with a 2.01 ERA in 49 appearances.
The sidewinder rejoins pitching coach Jim Hickey - who spent last season with the Rays - in Chicago alongside manager Joe Maddon.
Chicago has been busy throughout the offseason, signing Tyler Chatwood, Drew Smyly, and Brandon Morrow to multi-year contracts.
