Report: Stanton would approve trades to 4 teams including Dodgers, Cubs

Steve Mitchell / USA TODAY Sports

Giancarlo Stanton may have decided on his preferred destinations.

While the Miami Marlins superstar is reportedly not keen on joining the San Francisco Giants, there are four teams that apparently do strike his fancy. Stanton would reportedly only approve a trade to the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, or Houston Astros, according to Craig Mish of SiriusXM.

The Dodgers - Stanton's hometown team - are widely thought to be his first choice. His possible interest in joining the Yankees was first noted by Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic on Thursday.

As for the Cubs and Astros, it's not clear what level of interest they may have in Stanton, or whether they've even had any discussions with the Marlins about the reigning National League MVP.

Miami has reportedly agreed to a framework of deals for Stanton with both the Giants and St. Louis Cardinals. However, in addition to his apparent disinterest in the Giants, it was previously reported that the 28-year-old is unlikely to waive his no-trade clause to join St. Louis.
