As widely expected, left-hander Wei-Yin Chen looks to be staying in Miami.

The 32-year-old informed the Marlins he won't opt out of his contract with the team, according to sources of Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald.

He's owed $60 million over the next three seasons.

Chen only appeared in nine games - five starts - for the Marlins last season and has been dealing with a partially torn UCL in his pitching elbow.

He received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his elbow in September rather than undergoing Tommy John surgery for the second time in his career.

Since signing a five-year, $80-million contract with Miami, Chen is 7-6 with a 4.72 ERA across just 156 1/3 innings in two seasons.
