The injuries, and surgeries, are continuing to pile up for New York Mets third baseman David Wright, who will undergo surgery on his right rotator cuff on Tuesday, the team announced.

Wright, 34, was recently shut down during a rehab assignment because of continued shoulder pain.

The oft-injured infielder has appeared in just 75 games since the beginning of the 2015 season because of several problems including spinal stenosis, reoccurring shoulder issues, and surgery to repair a herniated disk in his neck in 2016.

Last week, a source with knowledge of Wright's thinking told Mike Puma of the New York Post he had no plans to retire despite the frequent injuries.

Wright, a seven-time All-Star, is under contract for another three years at $47 million.

Over his 13-year career, the Mets captain owns a .296/.376/.491 slash line with 242 home runs, 970 RBIs, 196 steals, and two Gold Gloves.

The Mets also announced infielder T.J Rivera will undergo Tommy John surgery on his right elbow, and left-hander Josh Edgin will have arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.
