The Los Angeles Dodgers are getting plenty of use out of the disabled list lately.
With 11 players already sidelined due to injury, the Dodgers added another name to the list Tuesday after placing first baseman/outfielder Cody Bellinger on the 10-day DL with a right ankle sprain.
Bellinger departed Saturday's game after rolling his ankle while making a catch at the warning track, and has failed to appear in a game since. The move is retroactive to August 20.
With an enormous lead in the division, the Dodgers have been cautious with a number of players by placing them on the DL in recent weeks in order to ensure they're healthy for the stretch run.
The 22-year-old Bellinger has enjoyed an incredible rookie season with the Dodgers. He's hitting .274/.356/.612 with 34 home runs, 19 doubles, 79 RBIs, and 3.5 WAR in 101 games.
