Hall of Famer Lou Brock announced Friday he's cancer free.
The former St. Louis Cardinals player was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in April.
"To God be the glory! Today I received the greatest news ever. My doctor informed me that I am cancer free. The battle against Cancer is not easy. However I remained hopeful. I would like to thank my family, friends and fans for all their prayers and support during the battle," Brock said in a statement released by the team, according to ESPN.
Brock also had his left leg amputated below the knee due to complications surrounding diabetes in 2015.
The 78-year-old retired from baseball following the 1979 season after spending 19 years in the big leagues, where he amassed 3,023 hits, 938 stolen bases, and a lifetime slash line of .293/.343/.410.
He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1985.
