Dodgers berate Bellinger for not knowing who Jerry Seinfeld is
Cody Bellinger's been so good in his debut season, it's been easy to forget how young he is.
He did well to remind us Friday, though.
During an interview with the Los Angeles Dodgers rookie, ESPN's Scott Van Pelt brought up a tweet Bellinger's teammate Brandon McCarthy posted Wednesday that referenced Jerry Seinfeld, the stand-up comedian and star of the American sitcom of the same name. Van Pelt then asked if Bellinger was familiar with the 63-year-old actor, and the interviewer could only lay his head in his palms at the response.

The answer did not sit well with several of the 21-year-old's teammates either.

What can you expect? He's like 13 years old! #MillenialKid

To be fair, "Seinfeld" began airing in 1989 and ended in 1998, just three years after Bellinger was born. And at least the Dodgers' home-run leader was apologetic about the pop-culture faux pas.
😂 I'm sorry I let @notthefakeSVP and everyone down https://t.co/cwGURFwx7n

But that didn't help him earn points with McCarthy (who frankly started this whole mess).
if you weren't so good at baseball I'd petition the league to suspend you
