The Cleveland Browns avoided the possibility of becoming the second team in NFL history to go 0-16 with a 20-17 win over the San Diego Chargers on Saturday.
The win moves the Browns to 1-14 and ensures the 2008 Detroit Lions will remain the only 0-16 team in history.
It was a nail-biter. The Browns blocked a would-be tying field-goal attempt by Chargers kicker Josh Lambo with just over three minutes remaining, then watched as Lambo sent another attempt wide right as time expired.

The Browns overcame the loss of starting quarterback Robert Griffin III in the game. He exited the game in the fourth quarter with a concussion.
Running back Isaiah Crowell was the difference in the game, taking 16 carries for 54 yards and two first-half touchdowns.
The Browns' win could potentially have enormous ramifications for the NFL draft. Assuming the San Francisco 49ers lose out and finish the season with one win, they will leapfrog the Browns to select first overall.
