After his electric defense earned him the National League Championship Series MVP, Chicago Cubs second baseman Javier Baez is having a hard time on the field in Game 7 of the World Series.
Baez's two errors early on tied the most he's had all postseason. He entered the game with a .954 fielding percentage and the best range factor among infielders at 4.59, according to ESPN.
The defensive miscues come a day after manager Joe Maddon said the 23-year-old needed to "slow it down mentally" by adjusting his approach, as Baez entered Game 7 in a 4-for-26 slump at the plate with 11 strikeouts.
He has a chance to redeem himself, though, as there's a lot of time left in the historic game.
