'The Kid' got to meet 'The Man' on Thursday when Ken Griffey Jr. stopped into the White House for a visit with President Barack Obama.

Griffey posted a photo of their meet-up on Instagram with the caption, "Just one South Sider talking to another," which also included a Chicago White Sox hashtag.

Griffey spent a brief period of his career with the White Sox in 2008, appearing in 41 games.

Obama - a White Sox supporter - has shown his admiration for the club in many different capacities, including throwing out the first pitch at a Washington Nationals game wearing the team's hat.
