Sharing the field with your boy is always a touching moment for older footballers hanging up their boots. It's not uncommon to see the old man make his final bow, then head over to the touchline to embrace their young, budding successors, who themselves are starting their own soccer careers.
But for 43-year-old Brazilian icon Rivaldo, subbing out for his son simply won't do. Despite announcing his retirement last year, Rivaldo is back once more, and this time, he's got good company.
The ageless forward enjoyed a strange and unique day of football as his second-division Brazilian side Mogi Mirim took on Macae.
Starring beside Rivaldo in the starting lineup? His 20-year-old son, Rivaldinho Junior.
Father and son both found the back of the net, a historic moment in footballing history. The two celebrated their goals together and defeated Macae 3-1.
