Thierry Henry criticizes Chicharito's Champions League goal celebration

Did Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez snub Cristiano Ronaldo?

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry thinks so after criticizing the Mexican international after his Champions League game-winning goal.

While the majority of Real Madrid supporters erupted with joy when Chicharito scored in the dying moments against Atletico Madrid, Henry took exception with the Mexican international's celebration as he wildly ran to the touchline after scoring, without acknowledging the man who made it possible.

"That’s Ronaldo’s goal,” Henry said during Sky Sports' coverage of the match. "At that particular moment he couldn’t shoot, so he didn’t take the risk of doing something stupid and silly with it.

“He saw a guy in a better position, which Chicharito was, and he gave him the ball.

“What I don’t like is Chicharito seems like he’s won the World Cup with that.”

Henry's comments were labeled as extreme by his colleagues. Other football pundits sided with Chicharito, who was having a nightmare of a game after missing several opportunities. So scoring the goal to send Real Madrid to the Champions League semifinals, no matter the degree of difficulty, seems like a good reason to celebrate uncontrollably, as Chicharito did.
