Real Sociedad's Barrenetxea nets fastest Copa del Rey final goal

Ander Barrenetxea pounced after 14 seconds to net the quickest ever goal in a Copa del Rey final and put Real Sociedad 1-0 up on Atletico Madrid on Saturday.

The midfielder nodded home Goncalo Guedes's cross at the start of the clash at La Cartuja stadium in Seville.

Barrenetxea's goal beat the previous record of 17 seconds set by Manuel Badenes for Valencia in their 1952 final defeat by Barcelona.

The match finished 2-2 after normal time and extra time. Real Sociedad won the final in a penalty shootout.
