Sevilla condemned "racist and xenophobic abuse" aimed at defender Marcos Acuna and the club's coaching staff during their 1-0 win at Getafe on Saturday.
Referee Javier Iglesias Villanueva wrote in his report fans yelled "Acuna monkey" and "Acuna, you come from monkeys" at the Argentina international, leading the official to briefly pause the match.
"We condemn the racist and xenophobic abuse suffered by Marcos Acuna and our coaching staff during Getafe v Sevilla," wrote Sevilla on social media platform X.
Sevilla coach Quique Sanchez Flores said he was called a "gypsy" by some home fans, and that he was proud of his background but opposed it being used as abuse.
"I am proud of every pore in my veins that can breathe 'gypsy'," said the coach.
"It is one thing to be a gypsy or partly, and another to use it as a racist insult -- I find it abhorrent."
The coach said other Getafe fans opposed some of those insulting him.
"Some of the fans -- because there are some that don't -- think they can come and say whatever they want, and that's what's happening in all the stadiums, whenever and however they want," added the coach.
"There were also some Getafe fans who were against what the other fans were saying."
On Tuesday Spain drew 3-3 with Brazil in a friendly arranged to combat racism, following multiple incidents of abuse aimed at Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior.
Sevilla's victory took the Andalucians provisionally 14th, six points above the relegation zone.
