Madrid, Nov 7, 2022 (AFP) - Jorge Almiron has resigned as coach of La Liga strugglers Elche after just under a month in the job, the Spanish club confirmed on Monday.
"Jorge Almiron has decided to step aside as coach of the first team," Elche said in a statement.
Argentine Almiron, 51, joined Elche on Oct. 12, having previously coached the club in the 2020-21 season.
But during his brief stay, they failed to record a win, with two draws and three defeats leaving them bottom of La Liga with four points from 13 games.
Elche said that the club's technical director Sergio Mantecon has been appointed coach on an interim basis.
