Report: Real Madrid considering move for Juventus target Cavani
Real Madrid are considering signing Edinson Cavani amid reports that Juventus remain in the pole position for the free-agent striker, according to ESPN UK's Rodrigo Faez and Moises Llorens.
Cavani has been associated with the likes of Benfica, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, and now La Liga holders Real after the 33-year-old Uruguayan's contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired in June.
Juventus apparently lead the chase for Cavani following former Bianconeri forward Gonzalo Higuain's move to MLS side Inter Miami, though reports of Alvaro Morata's impending return to Turin would seem to pour cold water on those rumors.
Nine-time reigning Scudetto champs Juventus were also reportedly interested in Barcelona's Luis Suarez, who appears set to join Morata's current employer, Atletico, after terminating his contract by mutual consent in the Catalan capital.
Real's desire to upgrade in attack was heightened by Sunday's scoreless draw with Real Sociedad, though Zinedine Zidane's first team would first need to sell the likes of Luka Jovic, Mariano Diaz, and Borja Mayoral to facilitate a move for Cavani.
Jovic and Mayoral were unused substitutes for the weekend stalemate with Sociedad, while Diaz missed out due to tonsillitis.
