Bayern, Coutinho agree to 1-year loan deal with club option to buy
Bayern Munich announced Friday that Philippe Coutinho has opted to join the Bavarian behemoths on a one-year loan deal that features a club purchase option.
The Bundesliga champs confirmed they've reached a basic agreement with Barcelona, with Coutinho set to travel to Munich for a medical in the coming days.
"I can confirm that (club chairman) Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and I were in Barcelona this week and reached (an) agreement with FC Barcelona, the player, and his management," Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic said following Friday's 2-2 draw with Hertha. "The talks were very good and I'd also like to thank FC Barcelona for that.
"Obviously, we still have to finalize a few details, but we're delighted to be bringing this player to FC Bayern."
Coutinho, 27, joins Croatian winger Ivan Perisic as this week's new additions at the Allianz Arena. The Brazilian makes the Bundesliga switch following reports of his inclusion in a swap deal for Paris Saint-Germain wantaway Neymar.
