Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly seeking a permanent deal for Jonny Castro Otto, and they're prepared to part with a club-record fee for the full-back.
The Spaniard's performances since recovering from a knee setback in December have apparently encouraged Wolves to enter negotiations with Otto's parent club, Atletico Madrid, over a £18-million transfer, according to BBC Sport's Simon Stone. It's believed that amount would match the sum paid for Adama Traore last summer.
Otto, 24, hasn't played for Atleti since joining them from Celta Vigo last summer. After being immediately loaned to Wolves, Otto has made 21 appearances in all competitions, scoring once in a 2-0 defeat of Southampton in September.
Otto was an unused substitute in Saturday's 2-2 FA Cup draw at Shrewsbury Town, but he'll be expected to usurp teenager Ryan Giles and return to the starting XI against West Ham United on Tuesday.
