Fresh from acquiring teenage attacking star Justin Kluivert, AS Roma has now made it two signings in a single day on Friday.

The Giallorossi announced the purchase of goalkeeper Antonio Mirante from fellow Serie A side Bologna for a fee of €4 million.

"Becoming a Roma player is a proud moment for me," Mirante said. "It was something that I really wanted - this is the right moment in my career and I think it will be a great step for me."

The 34-year-old, who made 90 appearances in three years for Bologna after joining from Parma in 2015, has signed a three-year deal in the capital.

The Stadio Olimpico club are getting a vastly experienced shot-stopper; Mirante has well over 300 Serie A appearances to his name during a career spanning 15 years.

His role next season will depend almost entirely on the future of last season's No. 1, Alisson, who has been linked for some time with a move to Liverpool. In the event of Alisson's departure, Mirante will likely replace him as first choice between the posts.
