Lille goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has retired from international football after being stripped of the captaincy by Nigeria boss Sunday Oliseh.
The shot stopper confirmed he has quitting the Super Eagles via a post on his Instagram:
The fall-out occurred after the 33-year-old arrived a day late for training camp in Belgium after attending his mother's funeral. He was ordered to apologise to the team and the skipper's armband was handed over to CSKA Moscow's Ahmed Musa.
The Nigeria Football Federation admitted there was a lack of harmony in the camp, but stressed it had been straightened out and that its legendary, chilled-out shot stopper was in training.
It's true that there was a little misunderstanding in the camp of @NGSuperEagles, but the matter has been resolved. Enyeama remains in camp

But that wasn't the case, and the 'keeper ends his international career with 101 caps, making him Nigeria's joint appearance record holder with Joseph Yobo, who retired from his country after the 2014 World Cup.
