Rouen 'keeper Leonard Aggoune was the hero of the hour, saving two peanlties to book Rouen a last-eight date at home to Valenciennes at the end of the month.
Paris Saint-Germain, meanwhile, were drawn against top-flight rivals Nice for the quarter-finals, a clash between the leading two Ligue 1 teams.
Ligue 1 leaders PSG, the 14-time French Cup winners, eliminated Brest midweek, with second-placed Nice beating Montpellier.
Another tie involving Ligue 1 sides will see Lyon hosting Strasbourg in the last eight to be played on February 27 and 28.
Le Puy, who play in National 2, the fourth tier of French football, continue their adventure at home against Ligue 1 side Rennes.
