Paris Saint-Germain booked a spot in the Champions League knockout phase for the eighth straight season after beating Club Brugge 1-0 on Wednesday at the Parc des Princes.

Mauro Icardi boosted his PSG tally to eight goals in nine matches courtesy of a close-range finish in the 22nd minute and Keylor Navas secured the result when he saved Mbaye Diagne's penalty with a quarter of an hour left on the clock.

It was largely a drab affair that offered little in the way of chances for the hosts. Icardi and countryman Angel Di Maria were responsible for PSG's only two efforts on target as the Belgians outshot the Ligue 1 giants 14-10.

PSG have now scored in each of their last 28 Champions League matches. They're the only side in the competition that hasn't conceded, having outscored opponents 10-0.

Thomas Tuchel's charges maintain top spot in Group A with a perfect 12 points with two matches to play. Real Madrid sit second on seven points after battering Galatasaray 6-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Next up for PSG is a trip to the Spanish capital to face Real on Nov. 26 with a chance to ensure top spot in the quartet.
