Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has reportedly opened discussions with Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) over potentially selling a stake in the Yorkshire club to the shareholding organization.
Radrizzani is currently in Doha, Qatar, meeting with QSI chairman and Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who is seeking an investment in the English game, according to the Telegraph's Jason Burt.
Al-Khelaifi, who is also the head of BeIN Sports, and Radrizzani are understood to have a good working relationship from when BeIN negotiated a television deal with MP & Silva, an international sports rights firm that Radrizzani founded.
Radrizzani purchased Leeds in 2017, at first acquiring a 50 percent stake before fully buying out embattled owner Massimo Cellino's shares. Radrizzani then reduced his 100 percent ownership last year when he sold £11 million worth of shares - thought to be a 25 percent stake - to 49ers Enterprises, an investment entity affiliated with the National Football League's San Francisco 49ers.
This season, Leeds narrowly missed promotion to the Premier League after losing the promotion playoff semifinals to Derby County, and with QSI looking to invest in the opulent world of English football through a club with top-flight ambitions, Leeds may make sense.
For his part, Radrizzani has denied interest in selling the club.
