Report: Marseille star Michy Batshuayi prefers Tottenham to West Ham

Primed for a high-profile offseason move to the Premier League, Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi is reportedly interested in joining Tottenham and not fellow Londoners West Ham.

With both Spurs and the Irons looking to add attacking depth in the summer, Marseille's 20-goal forward favours a move to White Hart Lane and not the Olympic Stadium, according to a report from Tom Collomosse of the Evening Standard.

With the incoming television deal ensuring that all Premier League sides will be flush with cash next season, this summer has the making of the busiest transfer window in top-flight history. Valued at £25 million by the Cote d'Azur side, Batshuayi is slated to be one of many marquee moves, with both Tottenham and West ham eyeing the 22-year-old Belgian international.

With Tottenham's Champions League spot next season a near certainty and West Ham sitting eight points adrift of fourth place Arsenal, the allure of playing in Europe's top competition may be enough to interest the pacey striker.

Couple that with Spurs gaffer Mauricio Pochettino's desire to partner talisman Harry Kane with a strike partner, Batshuayi's move to Tottenham makes perfect sense.

With five-time defending Scudetto champ Juventus also reportedly interested in the Standard Liege product, a breakout Euro 2016 with Belgium could see the Brussels-born forward's stock rise this summer, making him one of the hottest young commodities in European football.
