Max Verstappen is going back to his karting roots by participating in a unique event on Sept. 16.
The four-time Formula 1 champion will take on 100 drivers in a live go-karting event, set to be broadcast on Disney+.
Billed as the world's biggest go-karting race, the event will take place on a custom-built circuit at Silverstone, home of the British Grand Prix.
The race will feature celebrity drivers squaring off against Verstappen, who will start from the 101st position.
"In go-karts, you learn all the basics: starts, defending, overtaking," said Verstappen, who started karting at four years old, per ESPN. "Of course, I spent a long period of my life go-karting, so it's always nice to return.
"It's about understanding the grip of the go-kart. I've done so many years in go-karting that you quite naturally get back into things."
The full list of Verstappen's opponents will be confirmed ahead of the event, but so far the lineup includes ultrarunner Arda Saatci, freestyle mountain biker Matt Jones, and several celebrity streamers.
When asked what he's most looking forward to at the event, Verstappen highlighted the chaos he expects the huge field to create.
"Just seeing the carnage unfold in front of me," he said.
