Ricciardo finished 12th at the Australian Grand Prix F1 race at Albert Park Circuit on Sunday.
Analysis:
Ricciardo struggled for pace in Saturday's qualifying session and would end up a disappointing 18th on the starting grid. He would start the grand prix on soft compound tyres and looking to gain early track position from the start. Ricciardo wouldn't see much benefit to that move and would be the first driver to pit on lap 5. From there it would be a battle of longevity and Ricciardo would promote to P12 by his second stop on lap 29. He'd hold onto the track position gained and promote one spot on the last-lap crash by George Russell. P12 is the best result to this point in the season for this driver and team.
