Ferrari's Sainz takes pole for British GP

For the first time in his career, Ferrari's Carlos Sainz will start from the top spot for Sunday's British Grand Prix after posting the fastest time during Saturday's qualifying session. Red Bull's Max Verstappen will start in second, while Sainz's teammate Charles Leclerc begins third.

On a wet afternoon at Silverstone, Sainz used a strong final lap to edge out Verstappen for pole position.
"It was a good lap, I was struggling a lot with the standing water," Sainz said. "Pole came as a bit of a surprise. The pace has been there all weekend."
