It would appear that Luka Modric is staying put.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has poured cold water on reports linking Golden Ball winner Modric with a blockbuster move to Inter.

"The only possibility that Modric leaves is by paying €750 million," Perez said, according to Marca's Jose Felix Diaz and David G. Medina.

With the midfielder set to return to Los Blancos training camp next week, reports of Inter's interest in the 32-year-old come on the heels of a starring performance in Russia that witnessed Modric lead Croatia to a maiden major tournament final.

According to Marca, unlike Cristiano Ronaldo, Modric hasn't expressed an interest to leave the record 13-time European champions in the summer, as he has an eye on seeing out his current terms that run through summer 2020.

Inter have been busy this summer, luring the likes of Radja Nainggolan, Sime Vrsaljko, Stefan de Vrij, and Lautaro Martinez to the Giuseppe Meazza. However, manager Luciano Spalletti's lot may come up short with Modric and another midfield target, as reports surfaced Thursday suggesting that Bayern Munich tough tackler Arturo Vidal is set for a big-money move to Barcelona.
