Ex-Newcastle man Shola Ameobi moves to Fleetwood Town

Former Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi is looking to reignite his career on the north-west coastline with Fleetwood Town.

The Nigerian international apparently offered to play for free for Bolton Wanderers when the club couldn't afford to retain his services, but the transfer embargo handed to the Championship struggler meant the agreement could not be secured.
Ameobi therefore opted for a free transfer to Fleetwood, who currently sits in the relegation places in League One, where he will wear the No. 9 shirt.
