Aguero's header books City's spot in Capital One Cup final with Liverpool
Argentine forward Sergio Aguero scored a brutal, inch-perfect header to give Manchester City a 4-3 aggregate victory over Everton in Wednesday's Capital One Cup semifinal second-leg match.
Aguero scored from well outside the six-yard box off a weighted cross from Kevin De Bruyne, who himself had scored the equalising goal earlier in the half.
Everton entered the Etihad Stadium holding a 2-1 advantage, earned with a win in the first leg at Goodison Park. Ross Barkley doubled down on that lead early in the match with a long-range shot, which left City defender Nicolas Otamendi kicking his toes into the grass in shame.
But, goals from Fernandinho and another from De Bruyne - scored from what looked like an out-of-bounds cross from Raheem Sterling - brought City back into the tie at 3-3, before Aguero finished off the match with his 76th-minute winner.
The celebrations were spoiled, however, as De Bruyne went down with an apparent knee injury, which required a stretcher during on-pitch treatment.
With the win, Manchester City heads to the Capital One Cup final where Aguero and his teammates will take on Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool for the big prize.
