Aston Villa terminates contract with defender Philippe Senderos

Aston Villa announced Wednesday the club has mutually agreed to terminate the contract of defender Philippe Senderos.

The Swiss centre-back joined the Villans in 2014, but failed to establish himself as a key contributor, making just nine appearances in all competitions last season.

Aston Villa said in a statement: "the club wishes Philippe all the best in his future career."
