Seconds after giving Everton the lead during Wednesday's League Cup semifinal at Goodison Park against Manchester City, star goal-machine Romelu Lukaku collapsed to the pitch clutching right ankle.
The Belgian international made an attempt to run it off, before coming off in the 81st minute for Arouna Kone, hampered by an apparent injury to his right ankle.
Lukaku, 22, has been the driving force behind the Toffees efforts this season with a league-leading 15 tallies paired with five assists, as Everton look to book its place in the League Cup final for the first time since 1984.
