Norwich City reaches deal with West Ham over permanent transfer of Matt Jarvis
Matt Jarvis now has a permanent home at Carrow Road.
Norwich City announced Thursday that the club has reached a deal with West Ham to make the signing of the 29-year-old winger permanent. Jarvis, who has been on loan with the Canaries this season, will officially sign a three-and-a-half-year contract when the transfer window re-opens on Jan. 2.
Though the club did not reveal the transfer fee, reports suggest it to be in the £2.5-million range, which would signal a significant loss for West Ham, who signed the Englishman for £10.75 million from Wolves back in 2012.
"It's nice to get it done before the window opens as the Club have shown they really wanted me. I had a great start here and hopefully I'll be back up-and-running soon for the rest of the season," Jarvis said of the move.
"My first game especially was great. To get out in front of the home fans and score in a win was a perfect start which carried on for a while."
Jarvis also took some time to thank his soon-to-be former club:
Thank you everyone at @whufc_official players, staff, fans everyone! enjoyed my time there and wish you the best of luck in the future!
