Newcastle United has recalled defender Mike Williamson from his loan with English Championship outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers, the club announced Tuesday.
Williamson joined Wolves on loan at the end of October and extended his stay midway through November. But a hamstring injury to Jamaal Lascelles has left Newcastle shorthanded on the backline, prompting the club to recall Williamson back to St. James' Park.
The 32-year-old made five appearances with Wolves during his time on loan and was expected to remain with the club until January.
