Amid a period of criticism by fans and pundits alike, Wayne Rooney scored a 79th minute header that was the difference Tuesday in Manchester United's 1-0 victory over CSKA Moscow in Champions League action.
The goal was Rooney's 237th for the club, equaling legend Denis Law for second on the Manchester United's all-time scoring list.

Law, who played for United from 1962-1973, enjoyed legend status at the club despite sandwiching his tenure at Old Trafford with two year-long spells at rival Manchester City.
The Aberdeen-born centre-forward tallied his 237 goals in 404 appearances for the Red Devils, remarkably better than Rooney's same number in 496 appearances in all competitions.
Bobby Charlton, who finished his United career with 249 goals, needed 758 matches to do so, though to his credit, he often lined up in a deeper, attacking midfield role.
