Gabriel sees red for Arsenal after Chelsea's Diego Costa stirs up trouble

In a feisty affair at Stamford Bridge, Arsenal centre-back Gabriel was red-carded at the close of the first half following an altercation with Chelsea's troublesome Diego Costa.

The Blues' Spaniard put his hands in the face of Laurent Koscielny and then bumped him with his chest, but it was Gabriel who confronted Costa. Referee Mike Dean dealt with the pair, handing both players yellow cards. Considering Costa's earlier treatment of Koscielny, however, he was lucky to get away with just a caution.

But it wasn't over. Costa and Gabriel continued to bicker, and the latter was then sent off for allegedly kicking out at Chelsea's wind-up merchant who has behind him. There was a little tickle with his boot, but Costa made a meal of it.

If Arsenal is to get something out of this game, it will take an almighty, rousing team talk from manager Arsene Wenger at half-time.
