Report: Manchester City's Fabian Delph could miss up to 9 matches with hamstring injury

Fabian Delph's unlucky start to his Manchester City career continues.

His first appearance for the club was in a pre-season friendly against Real Madrid in July, but he lasted 18 minutes before sustaining a hamstring injury.

It denied him a start until England's match against Switzerland on Tuesday, but in that game he lasted just nine seconds before the hamstring problem reoccurred.

It comes as his new club is entering a stacked schedule. With a reported minimum three-week layoff, it could exclude him from seven City games - including two Champions League ties - and potentially England's final two qualifiers next month.

In other City team news ahead of Saturday's trip to Crystal Palace, Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho will be available for the game as they return to training from international duty on Thursday.

The most pressing selection headache for manager Manuel Pellegrini is at right-back, where Pablo Zabaleta is still sidelined and Bacary Sagna is doubtful with an ankle problem.
