Report: AC Milan in talks with Chelsea to sign Ziyech

Chelsea are ready to cut ties with Hakim Ziyech after two years.

With Blues manager Thomas Tuchel intent on revamping his squad this summer, it's understood that Chelsea have been in talks with AC Milan about selling the Moroccan attacker to the reigning Italian champions, according to The Guardian's Fabrizio Romano.

AC Milan's reluctance to match Ziyech's Chelsea wages is holding up the deal. The Italian side has held talks with the 29-year-old's agent to find a resolution.

Ziyech is believed to be open to joining Milan after Chelsea made him available following two lackluster seasons at Stamford Bridge, Romano adds.

He joined the Blues for €40 million from Ajax in 2020 but struggled to establish himself in Tuchel's squad last season, scoring four goals and providing three assists in 23 Premier League appearances.

Last summer, the two clubs pulled off a deal that saw English defender Fikayo Tomori join Milan permanently after the Serie A side triggered its £25-million buy option from a previous loan agreement.

Additionally, Chelsea are said to be interested in launching a bid to sign Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt, Romano reports. Sevilla's Jules Kounde and Manchester City's Nathan Ake are also on Tuchel's list of defensive targets this summer.
