Oh, Tottenham.

Mauricio Pochettino's men were flying high in their Champions League opener Tuesday on the road against Inter Milan until Mauro Icardi knotted up the score at 1-1 with a venomous 85th-minute volley. Spurs' troubles were then compounded in stoppage time when Matias Vecino's header snatched all three points for the Nerazzurri at the death.

As the final whistle blew, the Twitter critics were out in immediate force, with many cracking jokes at Tottenham's expense.

Things may yet get worse for Spurs as their hopes of redeeming themselves in the Champions League will come in two weeks when they face Barcelona at Wembley Stadium.
