Chelsea recalls Bamford from Burnley loan spell
Patrick Bamford's loan spell at Burnley is over after Chelsea recalled the young forward.
The Lancashire side confirmed the news Saturday, amid reports suggesting Chelsea may be entertaining bids from suitors interested in acquiring Bamford.
"He’s been called back by Chelsea today," Burnley manager Sean Dyche said. "It’s their prerogative to do that.
"It was part of the contract that was agreed. We just have to live with that."
According to Lyall Thomas of Sky Sports, Bamford has popped up on Middlesbrough's radar and could be set for a return following his successful spell in North Yorkshire during the 2014-2015 campaign when he scored 17 goals.
Chelsea's decision to recall Bamford comes after the 23-year-old failed to start a match for Burnley, and was only used six times as a substitute this season.
