Danny Welbeck has a chance to make his season debut after manager Arsene Wenger included the English forward on Arsenal's bench ahead of Saturday's third-round FA Cup match against Preston North End.
The 26-year-old has been out of action since May when he damaged cartilage in his knee during Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Manchester City.
He was initially expected to be out for nine months, but the 26-year-old has managed to regain fitness a month ahead of schedule.
Since his arrival from Manchester United in 2014, Welbeck has been plagued by a series of major injuries that have forced him to miss over 70 matches.
