Liverpool's Firmino nabbed for drunk driving
Liverpool attacker Roberto Firmino is set to appear at Liverpool City Magistrates Court next month after he was charged with drunk driving on Christmas Eve.
Firmino, 25, was pulled over in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of Dec. 24, and was promptly arrested.
"Merseyside Police has charged a 25-year-old man with drink driving after his car was stopped in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of Saturday, December 24 2016," a spokesperson for Merseyside Police said, according to the Liverpool Echo.
"Roberto Firmino, from Liverpool, will appear at Liverpool City Magistrates Court on January 31," the statement added.
Liverpool is set to welcome Chelsea on Jan. 31 at Anfield in a critical match between two clubs with realistic title ambitions.
A spokesperson for the club said that Liverpool would not comment on the matter until after the legal process had come to an end.
