Arsenal secured the services of highly-rated Nigerian teen Kelechi Nwakali on Friday, signing the prodigious talent to a five-year deal.
"Kelechi, who joins us as a young professional, will look to gain experience with a loan move in the coming months," a statement on Arsenal's website announced Friday.
Nwakali, 18, will join Arsenal's academy first, and while the signing of a youngster doesn't typically merit the headlines, the attacking midfielder arrives in London on the heels of a stellar performance for Nigeria at the Under-17 World Cup.

Nigeria won the tournament by virtue of a 2-0 victory over fellow Africans Mali in the finals, and captain Nwakali was awarded with the Golden Ball after pairing three goals with three assists for Emmanuel Amuneke's lot.
A playmaker blessed with pace, Nwakali was initially pegged as one of two Nigerian youth standouts slated to join Arsenal, though negotiations for Samuel Chukwueze have reportedly dissolved. Chukwueze is expected to join Porto in the summer.
Nwakali becomes Arsenal's fourth signing of the summer, joining Takuma Asano, Rob Holding, and Swiss star Granit Xhaka ahead of the 2016-17 campaign.
