Bournemouth announced Wednesday the club has signed Australian left full-back Brad Smith out of Liverpool to a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the £6-million range according to The Guardian.
The 22-year-old Liverpool academy graduate joins the Cherries after taking part in an encounter between the two sides at Vitality Stadium last season. He links up with fellow Liverpool teammate Jordon Ibe in Eddie Howe's side.
"I am delighted to confirm that we have completed a deal to bring Brad to the football club," Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake said in a statement. "Brad broke through at Anfield last season and impressed whenever he was called upon."
"He is another excellent young player that we believe can progress under Eddie and Jason’s guidance, but he also brings with him experience of playing at the highest level in both the Premier League and on the international stage with the Socceroos.
“It is an exciting time for us as we bring yet another promising prospect into our progressive squad."
Smith made 11 total appearances with the Reds over three seasons and spent the 2015-16 campaign on loan with Swindon Town. He also has nine caps for the senior Australia national team despite featuring for England's youth national teams through 2014.
