Team Europe and Team USA have announced the Saturday morning foursome matches for Day 2 of the Ryder Cup.

Rory McIlroy is noticeably absent from the matches. It marks the first time in his Ryder Cup career he's sitting out a session, according to Golf.com's Sean Zak.

McIlroy, the third-highest-ranked player in the world on the European team, didn't have his strongest showing on Friday. He and Ian Poulter lost 5&3 to Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay in foursomes, then he and Shane Lowry were defeated 4&3 by Harris English and Tony Finau in four-ball.

Elsewhere, the Spanish duo of Jon Rahm and Sergio Garcia are sticking together after winning their foursome, as are the pair of Lee Westwood and Matthew Fitzpatrick, who lost 2&1 Friday morning before sitting out the afternoon. The Paul Casey/Tyrrell Hatton and Viktor Hovland/Bernd Wiesberger pairings are both new.

Team USA is using the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" strategy, rolling out the same foursome pairings on Saturday.

The Americans lead 6-2 after a dominating performance on Day 1.
