Middlesbrough's Brad Guzan: Concedes one in Boro debut
Guzan made four saves and conceded once in his Boro debut, Sunday's 2-1 victory over Sunderland.
Analysis:
Guzan didn't see a ton of action in the first half as the Black Cats were caught napping for much of the first 45 minutes. However, in the second half, as Boro nursed a two-goal lead, Guzan started seeing a flurry of shots come in his direction. He spilled a couple of balls, the second of which led to a poke-home from Patrick van Aanholt to close the gap, but Middlesbrough was able to hold on regardless. Coming off a dreadful season for Aston Villa, conceding 58 times in 28 matches with just two clean sheets, Guzan was in strong form during the Copa America with the United States and will fight for starts with Victor Valdes in the Boro net.
