France, Portugal, Belgium qualify for Euro 2024; Ireland staying home
France and Portugal booked their places at next summer's European Championship on Friday after victories extended their perfect records in qualification thus far.
Kylian Mbappe scored twice as France beat the Netherlands 2-1 in Amsterdam. Portugal overcame Slovakia with a 3-2 win thanks to Goncalo Ramos' header and Cristiano Ronaldo's double.
Belgium is also headed to Euro 2024 after Dodi Lukebakio's brace and Romelu Lukaku's clinical finish earned a 3-2 triumph over Austria. The only current blemish on the Red Devils' qualification record is June's 1-1 draw against the same opponent in Brussels.
Ireland can't qualify for Euro 2024 following its 2-0 home defeat to Greece. Stephen Kenny's side has taken just three points from six matches in Group B, and all of those points were plucked from a hard-fought home win over minnow Gibraltar.
France, Portugal, and Belgium's qualifications for Euro 2024 leave 20 more available spots at the tournament. Germany was already assured of a place as the host nation.
